A Day in Midtown

Yesterday when we went to New York we went to many places. We were in Midtown and saw the empire state building, and went to the New York public library. When we split up into our groups Thomas, Alfahtee, Joey, Noah, Elijah, and I took pictures in times square and at the red stairs. The pictures that I took yesterday consisted of mostly street photography. Our group walked a lot and went to Chipotle for lunch. I think that it was a very successful trip.

In this photo I took a picture in the New York public library of a line of lamps. These lamps act as leading lines to the man on his laptop. So the main point of interest in this photo was the man. he's perfectly in focus and is on the far left corner. The photograph was a little underexposed though (Not enough light). My second photo is basically of garbage I found on a ledge by a construction site. It consists of a can of V8 Juice in a cup and a cup of coffee I took two photos of these objects. One with the V8 in focus and the other with the empty cup of coffee in focus in the background. I decided that the first picture that I took would be more appealing to someone than the second so I chose this one. I also Decided not to put the V8 in the middle so I could get the coffee cup in the background. This is known as the rule of thirds.

I felt pretty good about my photos yesterday even though they were mostly people and street photography. I didn't do a great job but I could have done better with the variety of photos I shouldn't have done all my photos on people. The trip was successful though. We also went to Chipotle. For the final trip I hope to put everything I learned in this course together and put it to work.
