The Aspects of Light: Rohan

Light is a very important thing when  it comes to taking photographs. There are many diverse types and sources of light all around you. The photographer must be be aware of light, and how to control it. Light has temperature, quality, direction, and quantity. These four things are going through the photographers mind as he attempts to take the photograph. Temperature or white balance depends on the source of light. Whether bright sun, cloudy sun,or shaded sun. Fluorescent and incandescent as well. Quality is the quality of the photo, Does the light create a hard-edged shadow, or does it create a soft edged-shadow? Direction is where the light is coming from. from directly above, below, or from the side etc. And lastly, quantity. Quantity is how many light sources are involved.
For my picture I used my classmate Thomas as an example. The light reflecting off of him is coming from above and this is an example of a hard-edged shadow. Reason being because of the shadow of his nose under his nose, and many others.
