Seeing Beyond The Walls of Our Privileges

During the course of this photography class I have learned a lot of technical details that I can do with my camera , and although that it's important to know how ISO, Aperture, and shutter can affect the overall outcome of the photograph, I believe that the most important thing I have gotten from this course is to view my surroundings in a new way. I don't think of art as only illustrative details , but i see art in the weirdest and most unexpected places. I see my self as not being so closed minded and being able to appreciate the little things. I have learned to see beyond the walls of my privileges.

All of these lessons that I learned were put to the test on our visit to New York, It was a big place with lots of tourist attractions ,but I found personal interest in the smaller things such as cracks in a wall , flowers , and even the way things were positioned on the floor . I incorporated a variety of things we've learned such as the golden ratio , the Sensor sensitivity towards the light , and the focus lock .There was so much to see in NY but only few things that caught my attention. When I reviewed my photos i noticed a pattern of circular shapes, It's as if I am hardwired to find beauty in circular shapes.

These three photos that i chose caught my attention because every single one of them showed a beauty in it's own way. Each picture has a story , and these three photos tell the story of how i was able to see inspiration in things people take for granted.
