Downtown NYC Trip

I have learned a massive amount of information on how my camera operates and its features. I have learned to use program mode instead of just clicking the button and saying cheese. I have learned what makes up a good photo and how to create that photo. I have learned the different compositions in photography. I have learned to adjust the ISO sensitivity to help create my pictures to look clearer and to have the right exposure to light. Also, I have learned the photography ideas that most photographers have used or use to help create an interesting image. Lastly I have learned to use a friends or a photographers photo as a model for me to learn off of and to use their methods to help influence my ideas and photos.

While in New York City yesterday, I took many photos using the ideas and skills that I have learned in class. I had a different mind set then usual when I'm taking photos. Instead of taking touristy objects and photos that catch your eye, I decided to take pictures of the ordinary objects but in ways that make you think they will if you went there. I was changing my ISO constantly to make the exposure to light better. I noticed many leading lines and texture. I tried using my focus to my advantage to make my images clearer but sometimes I failed. Although I failed, I still learned from my mistakes so that next trip, I will be able to go back and take the photo I was trying to capture in the first place.

The first photo I believed to be one of the better ones was one of flowers. I changed my ISO to -1 to make the image's exposure correct but it went a little underexposed, but the way the photo was taken makes it look like a painting. It looks unreal, which is the reason why it is my favorite. The second photo that caught my eye was the picture the wood railing. It has a leading line and I caught the texture really well. It's really interesting and it looks too realistic. The last photo that I really liked was the picture of the bikes that were lined up side by side. It was repetition and it really looked like an ad for the bikes.
