When you think of light you probably think that all light is the same, but actually light comes in various  configurations of temperature, quality, quantity, and direction. There are many sources of light such as sun light, florescent lights, cloudy lights and the list goes on. A photographer must  master and be able to mold light so that they can capture perfect moments. Lights could be reflected by using white boards  to bounce lights that come from above to reach spots it wouldn't usually be able to. When you use light, you can change the mood of a portrait from a light and happy one to a ominous and depressing one. So light plays a great role in the composition of a photo.
